THE HISTORY OF G-SPORT

THE O.R.T. SHOW

O.R.T. (Optimizing Revelation & Truth)  Show

Host: Sonya Kelly
Producers: Berry Glenn III and Christopher “Play” Martin aka "Kid ’N Play"
Pilot Location: The Guiding Light Church, Birmingham, AL — Bishop Jim Lowe

Launched as a 1996 pilot, The O.R.T. Show was created to spotlight Gospel Rap—bridging faith, hip-hop culture, and youth ministry on a church stage. Filmed at Guiding Light Church, the show blended live performances, artist interviews, and testimonies that pointed audiences to Christ while celebrating authentic artistry. Although the series did not continue due to circumstances beyond our control, the vision seeded ministries, careers, and new creative callings for everyone involved.

Today, we pray this archival content inspires a partner to collaborate with G-SPORT Edutainment to revitalize the O.R.T. Show for a new generation. Glory be to God.

MEET CHRISTOPHER "PLAY" MARTIN

HEAVEN'S HIP-HOP COMPILATION - GHETTO DRAMA - "MATTHEW 16:18 THE G_SPORT ANTHEM"

Christopher “Play” Martin

Widely known from the iconic duo Kid ’N Play—brought his storytelling and production chops to G-SPORT from 1996 to 1998, teaming with founder Berry Glenn, III to help pioneer Gospel Rap as a platform for ministry, culture, and youth engagement. During this period, Martin and Glenn developed and produced two television projects from Miles College (Birmingham, AL):

  • “A Little Off The Top” — a studio show set in a barbershop where men and women unpacked current events relevant to the community; Dr. Ricky Lee served as Executive Sponsor.

  • “Two Fingers” — a music-video program highlighting contemporary R&B and Hip-Hop artists, also filmed at Miles College.

Alongside producer partners, the team recorded and filmed the single “Hey, What Can I Say,” with the music video funded by the late Dr. Albert Sloan, then President of Miles College. G-SPORT also completed an (unreleased) compilation project titled “The Last Call.” Through these works, Martin helped shape an early bridge between hip-hop aesthetics and faith-forward storytelling in regional television and music.

Today, Christopher “Play” Martin is the CEO of HP4 Digital, a multimedia company he founded and leads, and the creator of BrandNewz.com, a digital news network focused on hip-hop culture. He also served as an artist-in-residence and educator at Miles College, North Carolina Central University and Florida A&M University, continuing his long-standing commitment to mentoring creators and advancing media literacy for the next generation.

G-SPORT EDU-TAINMENT MUSIC & VIDEOS

“Lord, I’m Thirsty” – A Song of Surrender and Spiritual Awakening

Produced by G-SPORT EDU-TAINMENT GROUP

Inspired by John 4:13–14, “Lord, I’m Thirsty” is a heartfelt reflection on the moment Jesus met the Samaritan woman at the well. In this soulful track, the singer SPRING gives voice to the deep longing for love, fulfillment, and identity—confessing that what she thought she needed in another man, she truly finds only in Jesus.

With raw emotion and spiritual depth, “Lord, I’m Thirsty” is a song of surrender—a personal cry for living water and lasting peace.
It’s not about religion. It’s about relationship.

“The Last Call” – A Prophetic

Anthem for a Searching World

"The Last Call"
Produced by G-SPORT EDU-TAINMENT GROUP

"The Last Call" is a powerful, soul-stirring anthem delivered from the heart of a messenger crying out to a world standing at the edge. With passionate lyrics and an urgent, haunting melody, this song pierces through the noise of distraction, speaking directly to the hearts of listeners. It proclaims the soon-coming return of Christ and calls all to awaken, repent, and align with God's divine plan.

Produced by G-SPORT EDU-TAINMENT GROUP, this track transcends music—it's a prophetic declaration. Every verse serves as a spiritual warning wrapped in rhythm, a final call to reconnect with faith, rediscover purpose, and listen for the voice of the Creator before time runs out.

This is not entertainment.
This is not just a song.
This is The Last Call.

"It’s Da, Music Man"

 by Christopher “Play” Martin
Produced by G-SPORT EDU-TAINMENT GROUP

"It’s Da, Music Man" is a funky, high-energy hip-hop track that brings soul, style, and substance with a purpose. Produced by G-SPORT EDU-TAINMENT GROUP, the song stands as a bold counter-message to the gangster rap that dominated the 1990s airwaves. Instead of glorifying chaos, this track reflects on redemption.

In this autobiographical throwback, Christopher “Play” Martin of the legendary duo Kid ‘N Play opens up about a time when his world was falling apart—divorce, eviction, foreclosure, child support battles, and the looming threat of jail. But out of that season of struggle came a song with a message: even in the noise of life’s storms, God still has a plan.

Blending funky beats with spiritual insight, “It’s Da, Music Man” reminds listeners that failure isn't final and that hope isn't lost. It’s a call to rise, to reflect, and to recognize that through the ups and downs, God is orchestrating something greater.

This isn’t just music for the body—it’s music for the soul.
This is Da, Music Man.

"Hey, What Can I Say"

By Christopher Martin aka Play (of Kid ‘N Play)

Produced by G-SPORT EDU-TAINMENT GROUP

Hey, What Can I Say” is a powerful gospel rap single from Christopher Martin, better known as Play from the legendary hip-hop duo Kid ‘N Play. Produced by G-SPORT EDUTAINMENT GROUP, this track is a raw, unfiltered testimony of a man who reached the peak of fame only to find himself in the depths of despair.

Through candid lyrics and a gritty, soul-infused beat, Play shares his journey from the spotlight to the shadows—wrestling with pain, identity, and the crushing weight of nearly ending it all. But the story doesn’t end there. This song is a declaration of redemption. It tells how Play encountered the transformative love of Jesus Christ, becoming a Born-Again Christian and turning his platform into a ministry of hope.

“Hey, What Can I Say” is more than music—it’s a life restored, a message of grace, and a call to anyone walking through the fire. With the creative vision of G-SPORT EDUTAINMENT GROUP behind the production, the track blends classic hip-hop energy with a spirit-filled purpose, proving that even from the darkest places, God can raise up a voice to inspire.
